Humane Education Coverage

    The Society is very involved with humane education in the schools. In March of 1917, the humane education bill was passed by Congress and it states that every school must have humane education as part of its curriculum. We support this bill by providing comprehensive presentations to all schools in Lewis County and in the Adirondack School District.

     The number of students provided with our Humane Education program has steadily increased from 980 students in the 1999-2000 school year to 1200 in the 2004-2005 school year. Instruction was given by Cliff Cook in conjunction with Lewis County Opportunities.
